How I Became a LinkedIn Electric Vehicle (EV) Influencer
A few years ago, my LinkedIn account had a few dozen followers. Today, I have over 10,000 highly engaged followers in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. These followers consistently engage with my posts (likes, comments, shares) in large numbers. This has positioned me as an influencer and thought leader in the EV industry and has brought significant attention to my EV articles. I am an EV advocate, journalist, and the publisher of EVinfo.net.
I have over 20 years of marketing experience. As digital marketing manager for Autobody News (2017-2020), I was tasked with growing the company’s FaceBook account. Autobody News publishes a monthly automotive collision repair magazine. I leveraged ABN’s team to gain over 10,000 high-quality FaceBook followers (body shop employees, owners, and managers).
Autobody News’ vibrant, very active FB page still holds an impressive lead in followers (22K) over its top competitors, FenderBender (12K) and BodyShop Business (13K), in January 2024. ABN’s competitors are much larger companies with significantly higher marketing budgets. Yet, ABN is beating them on an important social media channel. My methods for dramatically increasing followers and engagement for FB are nearly identical to those I use for LinkedIn.
